![]() ![]() Six times as hoppy as a traditional pale ale and four to five times as strong, this sipper is an ideal candidate for sharing and is best served cool, not cold. Unfiltered and generously hoppy, the gigantic 120 Minute is carbonated like an IPA and loaded with heaps of flavor and grand complexity. Clocking in at 15-20% ABV and 120 IBUs, this gigantic, candy-like India Pale Ale is copper in color with sweet-citrus, piney and floral aromas, with a delightfully bitter mouthfeel. – The beloved Holy Grail for Hopheads, the colossal 120 Minute Imperial IPA from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, reigning supreme as one of the strongest IPAs in the world, begins making its rite of passage to shelves and taps on April 10, 2017. ![]() The invention has had such an impact on the world that Dogfish Head donated its continual hopping machine to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History collections.Milton, Del. The legend goes: Calagione fashioned an electronic football game, which uses a vibrating metal field to move pieces, to move hop pellets into boiling wort at a consistent rate. What makes the beer so popular is its complex, balanced flavors, and also the story behind its inception. Over 12,000 people on Beer Advocate have rated 60 Minute, which currently sits at a score of 91, or understanding. In a 2009 Youtube video, Calagione says "60 minute has sort of become the de facto session beer for hardcore hop heads." 60 Minute is by no means a session IPA, especially with its 6 percent ABV, but it is on the lower end of the ABV spectrum when it comes to IPAs. If you're looking for 60 Minute (or another specific Dogfish Head beer) around you, check out the brewery's " Fish Finder." Why is Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA so popular? The beer is a grocery store staple as much as it is a staple in craft beer stores. You can find Dogfish Head beers all across the country, with distribution in all 50 states, as well as Washington D.C. Where can you buy Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA? While the brewery has gone through some major changes, including an acquisition by Boston Beer, Dogfish Head remains the same scrappy and inventive brewery it once was with its founder, Sam Calagione, at the helm. The Delaware-based brewery, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, is a legend in the craft beer world, helping to popularize the trend towards microbreweries and away from the Big Guys. The brewery behind Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA is, get this, Dogfish Head. Despite being an absolute hop bomb, it's not overly bitter to the point that you want to rip your tongue out.ĭogfish Head Who makes Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA? ![]() The beer is shockingly crisp for an IPA with a relatively high ABV, and its predominant flavors include citrus and pine. Besides its 60 Minute and 90 Minute IPAs, Dogfish Head also has a 120 Minute IPA, a knock-you-out-of-your-seat imperial IPA with anywhere between 15 and 20 ABV.Ħ0 Minute is a 6 percent ABV beer with 60 IBUs, and holy hell is it a good beer. The 60 Minute IPA is actually a follow-up to Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA, an imperial IPA, that helped to popularize the style when everyone else was drinking amber ales and lagers. First released in 2003, 60 Minute IPA is a continually hopped beer, which means during the course of a 60-minute boil, hops, specifically from the Northwest, are continually added to provide a super hoppy flavor minus any harsh bitterness. What is Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA?Īs its name suggests, 60 Minute IPA is an IPA. So what exactly is the 60 Minute IPA (we'll give you a hint: It's not a beer that takes 60 minutes to drink), and how did it become such a pivotal beer? This is the story of 60 Minute IPA. For almost two decades, 60 Minute IPA has been one of the most popular beers in the US, and it's not one you have to line up for hours for. Just don't tell that to the Godfather 2, Spider-Man 2 or Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. Sequels are rarely as good as the original. This time: Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, a beer that helped to popularize one of the leading beer styles today. Yes, if your credit is sub-par, rent-to-own is going to be the best option for financing a shed, cabin, or portable building. Is rent-to-own a good option if you have bad credit? Rent-to-own is the best way to purchase a structure if you do not qualify for traditional financing, or if you do not have cash on hand to buy one outright. Is it a good idea to do rent-to-own storage sheds, cabins, and portable buildings? You own the building at the end of the rental period.A great alternative to paying for storage.Return them if you do not like them or decide you do not need them. There are multiple benefits of rent-to-own sheds, cabins, and portable buildings: Financing through rent-to-own is a great deal compared to mini-storage! What are the major benefits of rent-to-own storage sheds, cabins, and portable buildings? ![]() When you use rent-to-own financing to fund the purchase of a storage shed, you are trading your money for an asset that you will own outright at the end of your payment period. When you pay for mini-storage or any other DIY storage option, you are exchanging your hard-earned cash for empty space with a lock on it. Is rent-to-own a better option than mini-storage? ![]() ![]() ![]() The 7,200-rpm spinning hard drive on the Mini-Note configuration I tested gives you bigger capacity, but heat issues are an uncomfortable side effect. As they are much more rugged, the solid-state flash drives can give you some peace of mind. Other options are 4GB (solely for Linux-based configs) and 64GB SSDs. You can choose 5,400- and 7,200-rpm drives with either 120GB or 160GB capacities. For instance, you can rip or download DVD movies onto your hard drive instead of carrying a USB optical drive.įor local storage, you have several options. The lack of an optical drive is understandable given the Mini-Note's tiny size, but because of the storage options, most users can easily live without one. The built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam is a necessary add-on given the prevalence of video chat clients like AOL and Skype. The Wi-Fi on/off switch located on the bezel controls both Bluetooth and 802.11a/b/g (that is, if you put the switch to "off," it turns off both Bluetooth and 802.11 functions). Like the Eee PC, it comes with an SD slot for those who will be carrying around their digital cameras. The two USB ports are one shy of matching the Eee PC's three, but the Mini-Note has an ExpressCard slot for devices like a 3G ExpressCard for cellular broadband. HP has informed me that the touchpad was used because the Mini-Note's intended audience-K-12 students-prefer it over a pointing stick. I'm surprised HP didn't use a pointing stick as it did on its Compaq 2710p, in which the mouse buttons are properly placed-below the pointing device. The other way would be to use two hands to surf (one to left-click, the other for the touchpad and right-click button), which is awkward. In other words, when navigating with two fingers (with the index finger on the touchpad and your thumb on the left-click button), you have to use a third finger to click on the right mouse button. The placement of the mouse buttons, however, is questionable because they are adjacent to the touchpad. Typing up this review on the Mini-Note was almost as comfortable as it would have been on a mainstream laptop with a full-size keyboard and is hands-down better than the Eee PC's keyboard. There's barely any spacing between each key, giving the illusion of a bigger keyboard. HP did a nice job of masking the fact that the keyboard scale is 92 percent, not full size. By contrast, the HTC Shift sports an 800-by-480 resolution, but because of the Shift's smaller screen size, HTC had to put in a resolution toggle switch (to 1,024-by-600), allowing users to fit more content on the screen. Further, the size of the screen keeps text or images at its native 1,280-by-768 resolution from looking unbearably tiny. "Frameless" refers to the glossy coating on the screen that extends to the screen's borders, making it look like a miniature HDTV, complete with a pair of speakers along the sides. The 8.9-inch screen is bigger and brighter than the Eee PC's 7-inch display. The masterful design is carried over to the interior, where a frameless screen and a wonderful keyboard reside. Although the Mini-Note isn't pocketable like the Fujitsu LifeBook U810, carrying it around the country or the city is still an absolute joy. Not as light as the 2.2-pound ASUS Eee PC 4G, it weighs 2.8 pounds with the three-cell battery and 3.2 pounds with the six-cell battery that my test unit came with. The Mini-Note is about as well made as the HTC Shift but costs only half as much. It makes this tiny laptop look like a darker, miniature Apple MacBook Pro. The anodized aluminum that HP draped all over the exterior is absolutely gorgeous. The Mini-Note is designed to look like a $2,000 machine. My configuration was relatively expensive others start as low as $499-a price that HP had to nail down in order for the Mini-Note to fly. Even more compelling, however, is that this miniature device can be used by kindergarteners or top-level executives alike, and is affordable to most families with schoolchildren. It sports a sexy, 3-pound design, has features similar to the Eee PC, and offers a variety of operating systems to choose from. The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC ($749 direct) has the potential to be just that. Now, manufacturers are mobilizing to create an Eee PC "killer," so to speak. The Eee PC is a sleek, 2.2-pound ultraportable that costs less than $400-something the UMPC platform had promised but failed to deliver. It didn't take long for PC makers to realize the gold mine ASUS struck with its Eee PC 4G. However, there is a brilliant set of features built in to help you learn, including around 40 videos to teach you the basics. It is still easy to navigate but feels a bit clunkier. The interface has changed, and is no longer reminiscent of Adobe's Premiere Pro, but is darker and more imposing. The Pro version unlocks everything at $15.99/£15.99 a month, and the Creator version unlocks fewer features at $9.99/£9.99 a month. If you're willing to pay, you can get rid of the watermarks. While the ATR based dynamic Renko charts is missing, I don’t find this feature to be that limiting as I wouldn’t want to see new Renko bricks being formed every time the ATR value changes. Traders can choose from the various configurations to build their own Renko charts including based off 1-minute charts with a dynamic price movement. I haven’t quite come across a Renko charting and trading platform that offers this much of flexibility. ProTrader – Renko Charts Historical Data ProTrader Renko Chart Review The image below shows how, more Renko data can be fitted onto the charts by simply changing the amount of data to load. In terms of data history, ProTrader offers the flexibility to include as much of past historical Renko data as possible. This flexibility with ProTrader means that traders can build their Renko charts based off 1m chart data as a dynamic price movement Renko chart or they can build their Renko charts based off the traditional method of using closing prices with the flexibility to choose their time period as well as select the type of Renko bricks including high low wicks, building Renko charts off High/Low instead of close and so on. ProTrader – H4 Closing Price Based Renko Charts Comparing the chart below to the one above, you can see how Renko charts differ. For example, the chart below shows a 5 Pip Renko chart based off H4 candle closing prices. To do this, just click on the ‘Custom’ tab to enter your own Renko data. Traders have the option to create their own custom Renko chart configuration. These include pre-configurations from 1 through 5 pips based off the 1-minute chart data. Renko charts with ProTrader comes with some pre-configured values as shown in the image below. But considering I don’t use ATR based Renko trading I for one don’t find this limiting at all. However bear in mind that the functionality of building Renko charts based off ATR is missing. Renko charts with ProTrader platform is highly customizable. That being said, Renko charts with ProTrader is surely a feast to the Renko trader’s eyes. There are a few brokers who do support ProTrader platform, but none that I find to be good enough to warrant my money. So for now, trading with Renko charts on ProTrader, for the most part will have to be confined to the demo data feed and well, to demo trading itself. Despite being impressive, I find it a bit disappointing to see that not many main stream brokers support the ProTrader trading platform. Besides Renko, ProTrader also has other chart types such as Kagi and line break. Developed by PfSoft LLC, Protrader packs a punch as it offers a great deal of flexibility when it comes to using Renko charts. ProTrader is a relatively new trading and charting platform but has been one to definitely impress me. ![]() |
